The Lord of the Rings
Now, it is most likely going to be a very long way down the line that I actually finish The Lord of the Rings. See, I don’t just mean the first novel, The Fellowship of the Ring. I mean the entire saga, start to finish, all the way through to the end of The Return of the King. One large book over 1,000 pages long.
I’ll be updating this entry as I continue to read, but I’ll be taking breaks in between to read Discworld books, so in all likelihood, given the size of the pages, the size of the type on the pages, and the number of pages, this will take me months. I’m looking forward to it.
All of that being said, I have read The Lord of the Rings before and so this review will probably not be very insightful. It has been some years since I last read it though, and this is an edition I haven’t read before, so we’ll see if I have anything to say about it.
I’ve finished the “first book”, which extends from the beginning to the arrival of the protagonists at Rivendell. The edition has some extra maps and prologues that I’ve never seen in previous editions of Lord of the Rings that I’ve read. It’s quite interesting, to be honest.
