Feet of Clay
The only details I have of Feet of Clay going in are incredibly vague, and all they do is convince me that I will enjoy this book just as much as I have enjoyed every other Discworld book that I have read so far.
Oh, it was great! Some of my favorite characters from Going Postal and Making Money were the Golems, and we get to learn so much more about them in this book! So this was honestly one of my favorite Discworld books so far. I know that I have said that several times, but I have the feeling that this one will remain one of my favorites even as I continue my progress.
This one, like the other Watch books that I have read so far, has a core mystery to it, and it was fascinating. Really kept me guessing until the very end, but it made so much sense once I got there. Like any good mystery.
The side conflict of looking at Angua trying to figure out how to reconcile being a werewolf with being with Carrot and being in the Watch, and trying to abandon it but being accidentally dragged back by her colleagues (and though I’m sure she’d be loathe to admit that she calls them such, her friends).
The well-written transgender allegory in the existence of a female dwarf in the Watch was a nice touch too. I am quite excited to see where it leads.
